Dynamic Lyrics: Car Widget("the App", "we") is built and maintained by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App collects, why, and how it's handled — and, in the website section below, what this website (getdynamiclyrics.com) collects, including cookies.
What the App does not do
The App does not require an account, does not have a login, and does not collect your name, email address, or contact information. Your Apple Music and Spotify credentials are managed entirely by Apple and Spotify through their own official SDKs — we never see or store them.
Data not linked to your identity
Apple's App Privacy label on the App Store listing is the authoritative summary of what the App collects, and this policy is kept consistent with it. The label declares the following data, which may be collected but is not linked to your identity:
- Purchases — if you subscribe or request a refund, Apple shares limited purchase activity with us (such as anonymous account identifiers, purchase and refund amounts) so we can manage subscriptions through the App Store.
- Identifiers — a device-level identifier used to keep the App working across sessions and to attribute installs and diagnostics. It is not tied to your name or account.
- Usage data — aggregate, anonymised information about how the App is used, via Apple's built-in App Store analytics.
- Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data, used only to fix bugs and improve stability.
Data used to track you
The App Privacy label also declares that one category of data may be used to track you, in Apple's sense of the word — that is, linked with third-party data for advertising or measurement, or shared with a data broker:
- Identifiers — a device or advertising identifier that may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
iOS controls this through App Tracking Transparency: where tracking applies, the system asks for your permission first, and you can review or change it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you do not grant permission, this identifier is not used to track you.
Lyrics and playback data
To show synced lyrics, the App reads the track currently playing in Apple Music or Spotify and requests matching lyric data from third-party lyric providers. Recently played lyrics are cached locally on your device so they load instantly next time — this cache never leaves your device and isn't sent to us.
Third-party services
The App integrates with Apple Music (via MusicKit) and Spotify (via the Spotify SDK) to detect what's playing, and with third-party lyric databases to retrieve synced lyrics. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data; we don't control and aren't responsible for their practices.
Children's privacy
The App is rated 4+ on the App Store and is not directed at children specifically, but it collects no personal information from any user regardless of age, per the data practices described above.
This website (getdynamiclyrics.com)
The website has no accounts, sign-up forms or newsletter. When you visit it, the following is collected:
- Web analytics — Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Web Analytics count page views and show which pages are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies only as described under Cookies; Ahrefs Web Analytics uses no cookies. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We do not use this data for advertising, do not build profiles and do not sell it.
- Server logs — our hosting provider, Vercel, records request metadata (IP address, browser user agent, time, requested URL) for security and performance, kept per Vercel's standard retention.
- Images — article images are served from Sanity's CDN (cdn.sanity.io), which receives your IP address like any image host.
- Song finder — searches run entirely in your browser; the last few are kept in your browser's local storage (key
lyricast:finder:recent) and never sent to us. - Email — if you write to us, we keep the conversation only as long as needed to answer it.
Cookies
Reading this website does not require any cookie. The only cookies it can set are analytics cookies:

- EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland — these cookies are off until you press "Accept" in the cookie banner. Until then Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode and receives page views without cookies or any identifier stored on your device.
- Other regions — these cookies are set by default. You can turn them off at any time with the cookie settings button below or in the footer.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control — if your browser sends either signal, we load no analytics at all (no Google Analytics, no Ahrefs Web Analytics) and show no banner.
- Your choice — we remember it in your browser's local storage (key
gdl_consent_v1), not in a cookie. Declining also deletes the analytics cookies already set on getdynamiclyrics.com.
We never set advertising cookies, and advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off. With JavaScript disabled, no analytics run.
Legal basis (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
- Consent — for analytics cookies (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy rules / UK PECR). You can withdraw it at any time with the cookie settings button.
- Legitimate interest — for hosting, security logs and cookieless audience measurement (Ahrefs Web Analytics, Google Analytics without cookies).
Service providers
- Vercel — hosting and server logs.
- Google — Google Analytics 4 (web analytics).
- Ahrefs — Ahrefs Web Analytics (cookieless web analytics).
- Sanity — content management and the image CDN for articles.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, relying on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention
- Google Analytics event data: up to 14 months, then deleted; aggregated reports that identify no one may be kept longer.
- Server logs: per Vercel's standard retention.
- Cookies: until they expire (see the table) or you decline.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and complain to your data-protection authority. Email us at the address below. Because website analytics are not linked to a name or email, we may be unable to find data about a specific visitor.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at this same URL.
